You may accuse us of killing two blog-related birds with one stone here, and you’d be correct.
We are introducing our latest videoblog (‘AML Update’) via this written blog, as I decided a little preamble is required.
The AML Update videoblog features me and Pekka. The content is pretty much as per the title – an update on some of the key issues currently facing AML practitioners.
You’ll probably be familiar with both of us from the ICT content we produce/front. Mine is mostly written, although you can see us both on the ICT YouTube channel, where we have done a number of videoblogs on various interesting or contemporaneous subjects.
I’ll be honest with you - Pekka is a lot more comfortable with it than I am. He has been teaching for years, is really good at it and really enjoys it. I, however, have politely declined any requests to join the teaching faculty. I’m happy with relative obscurity. Indeed, apart from the few videoblogs where I do actually present, our other ‘discussion’ style ones feature me in an off-camera capacity only.
I’m Not Angry, Honest!
So, coming to the point. I watched the AML Update videoblog yesterday.
My conclusion? The content is interesting and useful. But I look really angry! Just to be clear, I’m not about to hit Pekka.
What I have learned is that sitting, listening and being filmed is a skill. One which I clearly don’t have yet. My efforts to ‘look’ interested (even though I was!) actually had the reverse effect.
Clearly I have a lot to learn.
Anyway – although it is a bit embarrassing I thought I’d mention this up-front to draw your attention to it (ie: get it out of the way now) so you can focus on the actual discussion.
I hope you do find it useful. You can watch it at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AqCU3svQtHs%20
Our other videoblogs are on there too.
In the meantime, I’m off to find an acting coach ready for next quarters AML update…
