Are the Awareness Certificate exams open book?
No, Awareness Certificate exams are closed book, multiple choice exams.
Some of the UK course materials still make reference to the FSA, but they have now been replaced by the PRA (Prudential Regulation Authority) and FCA (Financial Conduct Authority). Given the regulatory environment has changed quite dramatically, are we still expected to learn this?
Our course materials are updated in a regular annual review cycle. Given the fast moving nature of financial services we cannot change the materials every time there is a change to the regulations or regulating body.
Students on a course should be doing some wider reading as part of their study and therefore keeping up to date with any changes. Workshops will also cover recent changes and teach what is happening ‘now’.
When writing assignments and answering exam questions it is important to be able to illustrate a point with an example. As the FCA and PRA have been only been established for a short time, it is important to have a good knowledge of the FSA as there will be far more examples available from the many years that the FSA was in force.
Could I have an invoice for my employer so they can pay for my course?
If your employer is sponsoring you to take the course they will need to sign the Employer Verification form or the relevant field on the back of the application form to confirm they are happy to pay. We will then book you onto the course and invoice your employer. We are unable to create an invoice until we have all the required details to book you onto the course.
